Dawn on the Bay

Early morning driving east along the edge of the bay in town I happened on this glorious scene. I feel I have not done full justice to it as I only had my iPhone with me and no proper camera, but for all that I am quite pleased with the result.

I shared this image with the town’s community Facebook group and, to my surprise, I started getting enquiries about obtaining prints – in one case, someone was wondering even asking about a jigsaw made from the photo.

Anyway – I don’t do photography to make money (always open to offers, of course) so I set up an easy way for you to download FREE copies – maybe I thought someone here might be interested too? Head over to https://sparroworks.ca/product/baie-durfe-morning/ and have a look. All free other than some minor copyright restrictions about personal use only.

River in January

Snow on the water

The confluence of the St-Lawrence and Ouatouais Rivers at Ste-Anne-de-Bellevue early in January with a light snowfall obscuring the Ile-aux-Tortes bridge carrying the Trans-Canada Highway. Cold.

Sunset on the St-Lawrence

Last day of November and it’s really getting cold

Sunset on the St-Lawrence river seen from Bertold Park in Baie-D’Urfé. The first ice is forming in the small bay at my feet with a loud and musical chinkling sound as small waves cause the ice fragments to knock together.

A lot of local photographers have been sharing sunset images on Facebook etc – I finally decided to join them and give them a run for their money.

Ice Petticoats

Getting Colder

Temperatures along the riverside have been up and, mostly, down for a while now. The river has yet to become cold enough to freeze over, but already ice is forming in the splash zone.  Lace petticoats on the rocks.
