For the past couple of days, late afternoon has seen brief appearances in the warbler pool of one (possibly two) juvenile American Redstarts.
It (they?) is very nervous and doesn’t hang about long but today I caught it diving into the water trying to hide behind a Goldfinch, having a rapid splash and heading out again – about a four second appearance, just time for one click. Wonder where the nest is?
