Spotted a spotted beetle …

Another beetle to add to the garden collection. This insect was feeding on pollen in the centre of one of our roses … not a particularly rare beetle but rather a handsome one I think.

I believe this to be  a Banded Flower Longhorn Beetle (Typocerus velutinus).

** I think at this early point of developing a garden arthropod list I need to know what the correct word for this activity is … an arthropod equivalent of birder. Chris, any ideas?
