Sparrows

Sparrows

A soggy day here with enough indoor jobs to do to keep us busy … and after yesterday’s excitement that’s fine. At the moment the garden is full of a sizeable flock of White-throated Sparrows which are elegant and smart little chaps … only surpassed in their smartness by the White-crowned Sparrows who should be coming through here any day now – they are the ones with the cycling-helmets on their heads.

Juvenile WCSP ... somewhat less well marked than the adults and with a spottier chest and side
