Pond-dipping time again

The first birds are heading south for the winter at the moment and are starting to drop by the garden pool and waterfall for a freshen-up as they pass by.

This afternoon – we enjoyed the presence of female Wilson’s Warbler (at least, we think that’s what it is … always wise to insert a caveat concerning identification when it comes to warblers in their “confusing” fall colours). She patiently waited for her turn in the top pool while one of our resident Red-eyed Vireos had a bath before jumping and being joined for a moment by a Chickadee who never wait in line for anything.

Looks inviting on a hot afternoon
