Out on the fields

20160107-005Most people seem to go out on cross-country skis in the winter. I don’t deny that they are fun (at least until you reach the top of a slope and fall over – something I can do within seconds of starting down the slope) but snowshoes are far the best way to travel in the snow – you can stop and look at things for a start without some “athlete” coming behind you with a withering look.

Today the fields are white and empty with just the tracks of mice, squirrels, fox and deer to show us where to go.
