Forest (with hidden gnomes)

A few days ago we were walking in a mature and uncut forest on the southern shore of the Morvern peninsula on the west coast of Scotland … several people who have seen this picture before it was posted here have asked “where are the fairies”. The whole forest is coated in dense layers of mosses, lichens and bryophytes, it’s a botanist’s paradise.

(For anyone interested, earlier photographs were mostly processed from RAW via Adobe Lightroom. This is my first (public) attempt at using Capture One Pro 9 instead … I find it creates a much better result with greater flexibility … but twice as hard to use with totally strange work-flows and hidden tools – but the company is Scandinavian, so that’s expected 😉 . Steep learning curve but I think it will be worth it in the end.)
