Chores mostly completed, went for a tour of the margins of the west island to see what was out on the water. Seems water levels are amazingly high and the Anse-a-l’Orme park almost completely inundated with flood water. Checked Cap-St-Jacques and a few other spots but the message was the same – very high water and only a few small groups of Canada Geese to be seen. Not a duck anywhere but occasional Red-winged Blackbirds telling the world to go away.
Not every birding day is a great birding day – but in compensation a nice flock of Cedar Waxwings came to the pond and then sat around in the lilac tree for a while. Waxwings are always nice, even if they were long ago ticked.
