It’s been a gorgeous, if cold, day today and so naturally I decided (why?) to check out the St-Lawrence River at the end of the road as sunset approached this afternoon … it was -36C windchill with a strong wind whipping up the snow on the ice.
I suffer for my art 😉 and was beaten back to the car after five minutes but I think I caught the essence of winter here – I hope you agree. I don’t plan to go back and try again.

Very high contrast between the snow and the shadows and dark trees so each of these pictures was created by merging five bracketed exposures (Adobe Lightroom HDR software)
