American Tree-Sparrow (#24)

Another spell on duty this morning at the MBO feeders was followed by ten minutes sitting at a distance (a mild -11C with sunshine … and although it is still January, it is noticeable that the sun is starting to have some warmth in it which you can enjoy when the wind is feeble) to see what happened next.

Lots of activity with many birds waking up and coming to see what we had left for them or else just sitting in the nearby trees and shrubs making a noise. Hairy and Downy Woodpeckers, American Tree-Sparrow, Blue Jays, Dark-eyed (Slatey backed) Juncos, a single House Finch and an American Robin, Euro-Starlings, Black-capped Chickadees and a heard Red-tailed Hawk quite nearby

The American Tree-Sparrow was a new species for the year list
