FOY bird #88 just turned up in the garden waterfall and was a Palm Warbler – a very, very smart little fellow indeed as the following picture shows. Later in the afternoon – rather hot and humid – the newly composted vegetable patch was checked out for worms by a Veery (#89).
Earlier in the day we had another bathing Nashville Warbler – they seem to be our most faithful visitors this migration period – as well as a few other nice fellows. This makes eight species of warbler alone seen in the garden this year already … and pretty well all of them in the pool at the top of the waterfall. The list consists of Nashville, Cape May, Northern Parula, Blackburnian, Yellow, Palm, Yellow-rumped and Black-throated Green. Not bad, methinks.
